In order to commemorate half a century of my existence, I decided to do an exhibition called “5×10”. I created 10 canvas of 40x40cm and 5 of 40×80cm.
These canvas depicted several features of my previous work and also incorporated new aspects.
Using my interest in words and numbers, I created 10 wooden boards covered with manuscripts from my grandfather’s Algebra classes and his logarithm tables. Each one of these had 5 sentences related to my artistic practice.
I also presented a smaller canvas with the image I spontaneously drew on my first tile, which I consider a self portrait. I also used two bigger canvas, to “increase the scale”, as my father used to say.
The opening of this exhibition was launched a month before my 51th birthday.
